As important as golf is to most of us and as important as it is to have properly fitted equipment in order to play our best, there is a “fitting” that we ALL need to take place in our lives. Mankind is born into this world missing a vital part to his eternal existence. Most of us have spent years trying to fill that void with countless “things” yet the initial joy and fulfillment soon gives away to the same old restlessness. Just what does fill this void?
The Bible teaches us in Romans 3:23 that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:10 tells that “none are righteous, no, not one”! Since we have all “missed the mark” and can’t make it to Heaven on our own, just how do we make it?
The answer to both questions is the same, Jesus! The void that exists within us is the need to have that part of the Creator that He has sent to make us whole. John 14:6 puts it very clearly as Jesus said ” I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes unto the Father except through me.” So, what must one do for this transformation to take place. It’s really quite simple. In fact, so simple that it has mystified generation after generation. The path to Heaven is laid out for us in 1 John 1:9 which says “if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of those sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Mankind wants to make it difficult and something that is earned. If you want to be saved, you must be saved by God’s grace through Jesus Christ. God’s salvation is a free gift. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Eph. 2:8-9.
One thing to remember is this: LIFE IS SHORT, ETERNITY IS FOREVER! Are you prepared? If not, it’s time to “get fit” for forever. Invite the Lord into your heart!
